Softball (Girls V) Beats Jennings County

Malone Moore was dominant in the circle, as they rang up 13 strikeouts in Beech Grove Varsity Lady Hornets's 4-2 victory over Jennings County Varsity Panthers on Wednesday. Moore allowed four hits and two runs over nine innings while walking two. A sacrifice bunt by Moore put Beech Grove Varsity Lady Hornets on the board at the top of the first. Boling and Garrett also had a sacrifice bunt to move runners into scoring position. Maycie Ward homered to left field, which helped Jennings County Varsity Panthers tie the game at two in the bottom of the seventh. In the top of the ninth, Beech Grove Varsity Lady Hornets broke up the tie when Lillianna Jansen doubled, scoring one run. Then a single by Carmen Edmaiston followed to extend the lead to 4-2. Moore drove the middle of the lineup, leading Beech Grove Varsity Lady Hornets with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Moore and Harper Moore each collected two hits for Beech Grove Varsity Lady Hornets. Moore stole three bases. Beech Grove Varsity Lady Hornets will travel to Jeffersonville for their next game on Saturday.
