Hope your fall break is off to a great start!
I wanted to update everyone on some great performances in the world of BGHS athletics.
Last night the varsity football team defeated ICC foe Triton Central by a score of 44-20. The boys trailed 14-13 at half on Friday night, but they dominated play in the 2nd, outscoring Triton Central 31-6. The offensive line was dominant in the 2nd half, paving the way for junior running back Isaiah Hulse to pulverize the Tiger defense. The Hornet defense was stiff in the 2nd half, not allowing a score until the middle of the 4th quarter.
The Hornets moved their record to 6-2 overall, and 5-2 in the conference. With a little help next week the Hornets could earn a share of the ICC conference title, which would be their 2nd consecutive. The Hornets will close the regular season at Mooresville, next Friday, October 14th.
On Saturday, the boys and girls cross country programs participated in the IHSAA sectional at New Palestine. The boys and girls both turned in season best performances. On the girls side, both Hannah Chandler and Megan Goldman ran great races, finishing amongst the fastest individuals in the race. For their efforts, both Hannah and Megan advanced into the IHSAA regional, which will be held at Rushville, next Saturday, October 15th.
The boys team ran a wonderful race overall, narrowly missing out on advancing into the regional as a team. Three individuals from the boys will advance into the regional next week: Conner Kelly (14th overall), Tyler Ramsey and Mason Darling.
Congrats to both the girls and boys cross country programs.
Great job to our athletes, keep up the awesome work!
