Multiple Teams · Matt’s Minutes

As the temperature outside dips, winter sports here at BGHS are heating up!
The Lady Hornets girls basketball team is off to a one of their best starts in more than 10 years. At this time, the ladies are 8-0 on the season. Even more impressive, the ladies have not yet been tested; The girls are averaging 62 points per game, while only allowing 41 points per game!  Leading the way for the Lady Hornets are juniors Cameron Cardenas and Katie Giller. For the season, Cardenas is averaging 20 points per game, 4 rebounds per game, 3 assists per game and 4 steals per game. Giller has also put together an all around great start to the season, averaging 20.1 points per game, 9.4 rebounds per game and 4 steals per game.
The ladies will face a tough test at home tomorrow night, vs Franklin Community High School: JV action begins at 6 pm, followed by the varsity game.
Also off to a strong start this winter are the Lady Hornet swimmers! The girls added to their early season success last by dominating 4A Southport. Below you will see results from the event at Southport.
