Sorry for two articles in one week but our BGHS athletes are doing some great things that I wanted to share with everyone:
Wednesday night proved a dominating night for the BGHS wrestling program: the boys pounded visiting Shelbyville by a score of 76-5! All wins were by pin or major decision. Individual winners are listed below: The boys are back in action tomorrow at New Castle.


Varsity Hornets with victories on Wednesday night were Juwan Joseph, Kody Conaway, Zack Ogles, Ethan Smiley, Bailey Moore, Adam Perra, Walter Ballinger, Nate Sanchez, Ely Shockley, Austin Smith, Andrew Wiggins, Isaiah Greene, and Brandon Cagg. JV Hornets with victories were Terrice Pope, Ottis Sager, John Pasyanos, and Sean Silvers.
Thursday night was a huge success for BGHS athletics.  The boys swim team dominated visiting Decatur Central, winning by a score of 111-72. Also victorious last night was the girls swim team, girls varsity basketball team and boys frosh basketball team.
The girls swim team upped their overall record to 3-2 with an impressive victory over Decatur Central 116-51.
Individual event winners are listed below: You will notice senior Erika Leak was part of winning 4 different events, while not to be outdone, her younger sister Emily also brought home 4 victories!

The girls basketball team continues to roll, winning over visiting Franklin Community last night, by a score of 63-52
The junior trio of Katie Giller (20, 15 rebounds), Mallory Storms (19 points, 7 rebounds) and Cameron Cardenas (20 points, 4 assists, 6 steals) combined for 59 of the Hornets 63 points!!! Also providing a late spark was freshman Mya Crawford, who scored two late baskets to help put the game out of reach for the ladies. With the win, the ladies moved their overall record to 9-0. The Lady Hornets travel to Warren Central nextTuesday, December 6th, 7 pm. This is a first round game for the Marion County Tournament.

The boys Varsity and JV teams travel to Speedway tonight for a conference match up.  The boys team will be looking to rebound from a heartbreaking loss to conference opponent Scecina from last Saturday.
