Park Tudor School
Beech Grove High School
Beech Grove picked up a win in its home opener Friday night defeating Park Tudor 42-13.
Junior quarterback Jordan Reel led all ball carriers with 120 yards on 17 rushes, ran for one touchdown and passed for another. Reel’s 35-yard TD run staked the Hornets to a 7-0 lead, an advantage they would hold for the remainder of the evening. Fellow junior Sergio Hulse toted the ball 10 times for 76 yards and scored two touchdowns while older brother Isaiah rushed eight times for 57 yards and two scores. Reel also tossed a 73-yard scoring pass to junior Kyion Tyler as Beech Grove (1-1, 1-1 in the Indiana Crossroads Conference) kept the Panthers (0-2, 0-2 in the ICC) at bay. The closest Park Tudor got was seven at 14-7 early in the second quarter following Caleb Bogle’s two-yard touchdown run.
Coach Mark Weller’s Hornets face a much-improved Speedway team next Friday night at Hornet Stadium, with the kickoff at 7 p.m.
