Boys Varsity Basketball, Girls Varsity Basketball · Matt English Court Dedication Recap

The Matt English Court dedication was a special night shared with students, family, friends, and the Beech Grove community.  Special thanks to Mark Jaynes, the voice of the Indy 500, for taking time out of his evening to emcee the event.  Katie Gearlds and other members of the 2003 state championship team recognized Matt as an honorary member of their team and awarded him a state championship tag.  Mrs. Walters and Dr. Kaiser shared some words of the positive impact Matt has had on the Beech Grove community over the years.  Matt, his family, and his fellow basketball coaches were presented with framed pictures of the court design from the BGCS administration.   Also, Dr. Kaiser read a proclamation issued to Matt English on behalf of Senator Aaron Freeman.  The evening included laughter, standing ovations, and some tears.  Special thanks to BGCS board and administration, as well as Cincinnati Floors for making this night possible!

A HUGE shout out to Dave Furst for covering Matt’s journey and attending our recent events!  The news story done by Dave Furst with Channel 6 news can be found at the link below.
