Hornets News · #ServeandSweatChallengeBG – Join in on the Action!

Beech Grove High School and Middle School would like to challenge our students to a social media challenge.  The idea is to stay active during quarantine through service opportunities or exercising.  The challenge, if you choose to accept, will be to post a picture or video on Twitter using the #ServeandSweatChallengeBG and tag @thehivebghs.  You can use TikTok to do the video but you will have to post the video on Twitter with the #ServeandSweatChallengeBG and tag @thehivebghs.  Some examples of a service might be clean your room (before and after picture), cut the grass (your house or an elderly neighbor), a video shout out to first responders (BG Police/Fire Dept., Nurses, Doctors, etc), help with younger siblings (babysit them, help them with HW, read them a book, etc), and anything else you would deem a service.  A sweat challenge would be for exercising such as running/jogging a mile, practice a sport WHILE practicing social distancing, do 20 push-ups/burpees/sit-ups/exercise of your choice, etc.  The challenge part will be to challenge three other Beech Grove students, staff, or coaches at the middle school or high school and hopefully, the #ServeandSweatChallengeBG will spread to give everyone a chance to have some fun while in quarantine.  If you choose to participate, you could be in line for some Beech Grove Swag!  The challenge will award points based on the following point system:

Point System:

  • 3 pts – Initial video and challenge of 3 other B
  • 2 pts – Follow @bghsthehive on Twitter
  • 1 pt – for each challenge completed

Beech Grove Swag:

  • $5 gift cards to Subway – multiple gift cards
  • T-Shirts – multiple shirts and sizes
  • Nike Bags – 2 total
  • Beech Grove Hats – 3 total
  • Grand Prize – Nike Shoes

The #ServeandSweatChallengeBG starts today and will end the last day of school on May 22nd.  The first 10 to post their challenge picture or video will automatically receive a $5 subway gift card!

The only way we can keep track of the point system is based on your #ServeandSweatChallengeBG being used during your tweets.  Stay safe and have fun with the challenge!  If you have any questions, contact Ryan Morgan (rymorgan@bgcs.k12.in.us), Michael Shanahan (mshanahan@bgcs.k12.in.us), or Garret Daniel (gdaniel@bgcs.k12.in.us).
