Hornets News · IHSAA Student-Athlete Academic Eligibility

Beech Grove Student-Athletes

As we look to finish up the school year with e-learning, it’s important to remember that your eligibility for Fall sports is still contingent upon being academically eligible.  Make sure you finish strong with e-learning by checking into your classes, submitting your assignments, and taking your quizzes/tests.  Per IHSAA rules, to be eligible scholastically, students must have received passing grades and earned credit at the end of their last Grading Period in School in at least Seventy percent (70%) of the maximum number of full credit subjects that a student can take.  An example of this would be for a student taking 8 blocks, you must pass 6 of 8 classes in order to be academically eligible for athletics.  If you are not academically eligible, you must sit out of athletic contests but can still participate in off-season and in-season practices.  A student-athlete may become academically eligible after the end of the 1st quarter in the 2020-21 school year.  If you have any questions regarding academic eligibility, please contact Athletic Director – Garret Daniel by email (gdaniel@bgcs.k12.in.us).
