Sophomore Skyler Thacker poured in 11 points, all in the second half, and fellow classmate Jaleel Edwards dropped in 10 as the Beech Grove Hornets finished undefeated in Indiana Crossroads Conference play for a fourth consecutive year, defeating the Triton Central Tigers 48-26 Friday night in junior varsity action on the Matt English Court at “The Hive.”
Leading just 16-10 at the intermission, the Hornets (15-2, 7-0 in the ICC) broke the game wide open in the third quarter, outscoring the visiting Tigers 16-4 to take a 32-14 advantage heading into the game’s final seven minutes.
Also aiding the winning cause were sophomore Jeremiah Tate, who poured in eight points, and freshman Caleb Wolsiffer, who tallied eight in his junior varsity debut.
Sophomore Jameson Palmer and freshman Sam Kemper led Triton Central with six points each.
Beech Grove has now won at least 28 straight Indiana Crossroads Conference contests dating back to 2017. And for a fourth straight season, the Orange and Black have gone 7-0 in loop play.
