Coach Jason Hess’ Beech Grove Hornets won their third straight game of the season Friday night with another convincing effort, 61-37 over the host Speedway Sparkplugs at Speedway’s Morris Pollard Gymnasium.
Ten players saw action for Beech Grove (3-0, 2-0 in the Indiana Crossroads Conference), and nine of those scored. Leading the way were juniors Isaac Stennett and Curtis Kimbrough with 10 points each, followed by sophomores Gavin Mitchell, Zach Smith and Edward Taylor with seven. Junior Keyonni Johnson and sophomore Jadyn Curry scored six points each while junior Kaleb Arsenault and sophomore Seth Walters contributed four points apiece. The Hornets got balanced scoring throughout their roster, which would please any coach, particularly Coach Hess.
Sophomore Carson Harrison led the Sparkplugs (1-2, 0-1 in the ICC) with a game-high 11 points.
The Hornets return to action this Friday night at Park Tudor in another Indiana Crossroads Conference tilt.
