For the 9th consecutive year, the Beech Grove boy’s swim team takes home the first place in a true team effort! In a very close match-up, each point mattered greatly and each member of the team made a difference towards this victory!

Senior Janis Vuskalns led the way with 1st place conference wins in both of his individual events: the 200 IM and 100 butterfly.

Junior Trent Eckstein also led the way with two 1st place finishes in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke with two personal record times!

Junior Kevin Kinder earned a 1st place and personal record score in diving as well as 6th place in the 100 fly. He also earned a 7th place spot on our All-Time BGHS best list in the 11-dive event.

Junior Brian Sorenson came in 3rd in the 200 IM and 4th in the 100 breaststroke.

Kayden Bourff came in 5th in the 50 free with a PR time of 26.03 and 6th in the 100 free.

DeSean Marion took 4th in the 100 free and 6th in the 200 freestyle.

Dezmond Marion took 4th in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle.

Jacob Knapp earned 5th in the 500 freestyle and 4th in the 100 backstroke.

Freshman Donevan Edwards earned points for the team with a 7th place finish in the 100 backstroke.

Freshman Jacob Stevens also earned points for the team with 2 personal record times in the 500 freestyle and 200 IM with a 6th and 7th place finish respectively.

Our relays were also key in earning the first place title.

The 200 Medley Relay of Eckstein, Sorenson, Bourff, and Knapp earned 3rd place with a time of 1:55.81.

The 200 Freestyle Relay of Sorenson, Bourff, DeSean Marion, and Vuskalns came in 2nd place with a time of 1:39.73.

The final and deciding event of the 400 Freestyle relay of DeSean Marion, Trent Eckstein, Dezmond Marion, and Janis Vuskalns took first place (and the meet!) with a time of 3:43.96.

Each and every BGHS swimmer was an integral part of this victory, and it sure was sweet! Come watch the boys swim at home on January 10 versus Greenwood.
