Boys varsity tennis lost a tough match to Speedway tonight by the score of 2-3. #1 singles Collin Eckstein and #3 singles Chase Alford each won their match in straight sets (6-3, 6-0) and (6-1, 6-4). Both Collin and Chase pushed their individual records to 2-0 in the early part of the season. Trent Eckstein battled it out in another three set match that was decided by a third set tiebreaker. Trent dropped the first set, fought his way back to win the second, to eventually fall short in his tiebreaker.
#1 and #2 doubles had a challenging night and were both defeated by the Sparkplugs. However, #2 doubles of Alex Geiger and Matthew Pettigrew were able to take their match to three sets. The boys tennis team will be in action this Saturday at home to play the final two rounds of the Speedway Invite vs. Scecina and Ritter.
