Coach English was in the house to see Beech Grove win the “Grey Out” game against Monrovia Friday night!

The offense again had a big night on the ground, but added some explosive plays through the air. As a team, the Hornets rushed for 266 yards and threw for 93 yards. Sergio Hulse had a big game, with 163 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He also hauled in a 27 yard touchdown pass from Jordan Reel. Reel threw for 3 total scores, one to Hulse, one to Gavin Mitchell, and another 52 yarder to Kyion Tyler.

The defense did a good job trying to contain the Bulldogs’ vaunted rushing attack in the first half. Monrovia did find a way to move the ball in the second half, keeping the game close well into the fourth quarter. Hard running by Hulse and Terrice Pope helped seal the deal. A WE B4 ME attitude helped the Hornets STAND TALL with a 33-26 victory.

The Hornets will host Cardinal Ritter next Friday night. It will also be senior night, so come support the players who have contributed so much to the program for 4 years.
