Chase Andries ('17) will be returning to Beech Grove High School this Friday. The athletic department will recognize Chase at halftime and present him with his Indiana All-Star football jersey that will be on display on the new concession/restroom building at the east end of the track. During his time at Beech Grove Chase amassed multiple awards and accolades. As quarterback for the Hornets, he was a four-year starter and earned Indiana Crossroad Conference Player of the Year and Marion County Player of the Year. On the field, Chase threw for over 10,800 yards during his years with Beech Grove. This led to numerous school records in passing categories and earned him a spot as a Top 25 All-time IHSAA passing leader. Before finishing up his high school career, Chase earned a spot as an Indiana All-Star and was the game captain on the South team. In college, Andries played for DePauw University where he served as team captain, earned a team MVP, and two team-offensive MVP awards. Andries, a three-year starter, would help lead the Tigers to its first conference victory and first playoff victory in program history. Andries was not ready to hang up the cleats after college. A European club recruited Chase to play for the Calanda Broncos in the heart of the Swiss Alps in Chur, Switzerland. With the Broncos, Andries threw for 3,900 yards and 35 touchdown passes. After his time with the Calanda Broncos, Chase jumped over to France to play for the French Riviera in Marseille, France. Unfortunately, Andries suffered a season-ending injury with the Riviera and returned back to the States. Chase currently works as a QB Coach/Assistant OC at DePauw University and personal trainer for local and European high school and college QBs. We are honored to welcome Chase Andries back to Beech Grove High School this Friday night. The varsity football game starts at 7:00 p.m. The Hornets will take on ICC opponent Speedway.
