The BGHS Athletic Department would like to welcome Anna Caster to the team! Coach Caster is the new head coach of the BGHS girls' soccer team. She has already hit the ground running hosting summer workouts with the team, but if you are interested in playing soccer for the Hornets, be sure to stop by the athletic department offices during our back to school events next week. Academic & Athletic Roots A proud alumna of Lutheran High School, Anna went on to earn dual degrees in Psychology and Exercise Science from Monmouth College. Last year she was the assistant coach for the Lutheran Saints team, and during an internship in Northern Ireland, Coach Caster enjoyed coaching a variety of sports during her time abroad. One of her favorite moments while coaching soccer was working with her Lutheran goalkeepers last season. Coaching Philosophy: Journey Over Destination At the heart of her coaching style is a dedication to building athletes for life, not just for game day. She focuses on creating an environment where players are challenged, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. "I want to create an environment that encourages and prepares players not only for competition, but also for life beyond the field. I believe the journey of playing sports presents a valuable opportunity for athletes to learn and develop their mental toughness, communication, responsibility, hard work, and trust. My role is to guide athletes through their growth journey—to challenge, support, and believe in them every step of the way."
